August 6 Tobacco cessation classes at 12:15 PM   ( 6 week series)
August 25 Fall Back into Health, Health Fair in collaboration with FSU Medical students and Florida Health care, at center for Civic Engagement from 11 AM to 3 PM.
August 28 Quad activity in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King's speech "I have a Dream" at 12 noon

The Odessa Chambliss Center for Health Equity programs include:

 “Wildcat Wellness” to address physical exercise, nutrition and tobacco cessation on B-CU campus. Funded by The Florida Department of Health.

Community Health Workers (CHW) collaboration with University of Florida( UF), Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University (FAMU) to train CHW’s in three counties ( Alachua, Gadsden, and Volusia) . CHW intervention is designed to use the evidence based Health Smart Behaviors program to improve nutrition and encourage physical activity.

Clinical site for students to develop educational programs according to the  national health promotion calendar. For example during October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, senior nursing students in community health conduct seminars  for  B-CU family as well as the surrounding community.

“Today I Chose to Live” annual health fair to address men’s health issues originally co-sponsored by former State Senator Anthony “Tony” Hill, now it is a collaboration with Shriners Ancient City Temple #63.

Partner Coach with Volusia County Health Department in Action Communities for Health, Innovation and Environmental Change (ACHIEVE) Daytona which is designed to formulate policies to improve the health of the citizens who reside in the 32114 zip code.

Committee Protocol for Assessing Community Excellence in Environmental Health (PACE-EH) Project, a grass roots effort to identify local community environmental public health problems and generate solutions to those problems.
