Admission for parents, family, friends, and the general public

Candidates will receive a maximum of 8 (eight) complimentary tickets for guests. In an effort to accommodate guests with tickets, the University will provide an overflow area for a limited number of guests and spectators who have obtained tickets. Tickets will be available at the Bethune-Cookman Performing Arts Center Box Office.  Details will be available on the University’s website at

The doors will open to the public at 11:00 a.m. Guests should be seated by 11:45 a.m. The Line of March will begin at 12:00 noon.

For videotapes (DVDs) of the ceremony, please contact the Campus Bookstore at (386) 255-1295.


No outside food or drinks will be allowed inside the Ocean Center.

Emergency Personnel

Emergency Medical Services personnel will be present throughout the ceremony. Please contact a Bethune-Cookman University usher or a Bethune-Cookman University public safety officer for assistance.


All cell phones and electronic noise-producing devices must be turned off during the ceremony.

Public Restrooms

Restrooms will be available on both levels of the Ocean Center.  Please ask an usher for assistance, if necessary.

Printed Programs

Commencement programs will be available at the entrance to the Ocean Center for guests and in the seating areas reserved for graduating students, faculty, and platform guests.


At the end of the program, the President will lead the platform guests, faculty, and the graduates  out of the Ocean Center to the Plaza to meet their families and friends.
