Academic Advisement in CARES
The primary function of Academic Advisement is to assist students assigned to CARES to navigate successfully through their college experience. Academic advisors serve as liaisons between the student and the social and academic resources available on and off campus. Academic Advisement utilizes a holistic case management approach to address areas of concern to first-year students.
Advisors provide academic assistance to CARES students by providing information on the correct classes to take, the major courses of study available at Bethune-Cookman University, the use of the Wildcat Web, and how to obtain PIN codes and students IDs. Additionally, the Center assists transfer students with registration procedures, schedule changes and choosing a major.
