Dr. Alice Wood

Dr. Alice Wood is Associate Professor of Religion at Bethune-Cookman University. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Rice University, Houston, Texas in 1997 and has taught at Bethune-Cookman since 2000. Her teaching responsibilities include courses such as Understanding Faith; History of Christianity; World Religions; and Religion in America. Her research interests focus on religious texts and how they change and develop over time and, in particular, how religious figures are depicted in religious and historical narratives. She is interested in innovative online pedagogy and is exploring the use of spiritual disciplines in undergraduate religion courses.

Dr. Wood is the Program Director for the Youth Theology Institute at BCU and for the EGG summer program. She enjoys travel and has been as far away as Europe, New Zealand, Peru, and India.
