Kimberly Burgess

Greetings, New Wildcats!

On behalf of the staff, advisors, and success counselors of the College of Undergraduate Studies, I welcome you the Bethune-Cookman University Experience!  We thank you for choosing this great institution and we are ready to get to work immediately to support you toward your academic goals.

A vital component of a successful educational career is the relationship between a student and his/her success coach.  This year, you will work closely with a success coach that will serve as your freshman seminar instructor, your learning community facilitator, and your academic partner while you grow into your unique and FABULOUS college identity.  You will have peer mentors to help answer questions about the B-CU environment and you will work with peer tutors who will assist you with those challenging freshman courses.

Our team of dedicated Wildcats will support you through your sophomore year with a spirit of respect, authenticity, and love.  We provide guidance on your academic plans, we refer you for academic support or social services, and offer training in time management, critical thinking, and study strategies.  We believe in the talents that you possess and the excellence that you represent.  Our programs and services in the College of Undergraduate Studies are designed to introduce you to Bethune-Cookman’s rich history and core values while preparing you academically and socially for college life.

Please do not hesitate to call on me or any of the COUS representatives should you have questions along the way.  Together, we are a fantastic partnership for success!
