Excelsior Level 1

The Excelsior Scholarship is offered to students who will complete high school in May or June prior to enrolling into B-CU in the subsequent Fall Semester. The award covers the cost of full-time tuition up to the cost of attendance. Students must earn and maintain a 3.3 cumulative grade point average to renew this scholarship. Awards may be renewed for a maximum of 3 years of study.

To qualify, candidates must meet these minimal academic qualifiers:

  • Cumulative GPA: 3.5
  • Test Scores: SAT 1560 OR ACT Composite 23
  • ENROLLMENT FEE (Non-Refundable) – Must pay Enrollment Fee to Qualify
  • Copy of Social Security Card

Funding is limited. All scholarships are competitive and are awarded on a first come first serve basis.

 The following is a list of required items and deadlines you must submit the items by:

 Once your acceptance packet is received, you must submit:

  1. Pay the required $300 (non-refundable) Enrollment Fee by February 20, 2017 by contacting the Cashiers Office.
  2. Complete and submit your FAFSA by March 24, 2017
A complete FAFSA includes:
  1. Apply for your Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID at (https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm).
  2. Apply for financial aid at (www.fafsa.gov) by March 24th. Selecting the IRS Data Retrieval Tool speeds up the completion of the FAFSA.
  3. If selected, submission of all verification documents by March 24th. Forms can be completed on Dynamic Forms.
  4. Register and attend one of the new student orientation sessions.  (The orientation schedule will be provided at a later date).

 Some residential facilities may require an additional fee not covered by the scholarship.


Excelsior Level 2

This award, valued at 8,000, is awarded annually. Students must earn and maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average to renew this scholarship. Awards may be renewed for a maximum of 3 years of study.

To qualify, candidates must meet these minimal academic Criteria:

  • Cumulative GPA: 3.25
  • Test Scores: SAT 1390 OR ACT Composite 20
  • ENROLLMENT FEE (Non-Refundable) – Must pay Enrollment Fee to Qualify
  • Copy of Social Security Card

Excelsior Transfer

Students must enroll full-time. The academic Excelsior scholarship for new transfer students covers the cost of full-time tuition up to the cost of attendance. Students must earn and maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average to renew this scholarship. Awards may be renewed for a maximum of 2 years of study.

To qualify, a student must meet these minimal academic qualifiers:

  • Cumulative GPA:3.25/16 Transferable Credits
  • ENROLLMENT FEE (Non-Refundable) – Must pay Enrollment Fee to Qualify
  • Copy of Social Security Card
