Florida Classic presented by State Farm tickets to go on sale July 7

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Tickets for the 2008 edition of America's largest HBCU football game, the Florida Classic presented by State Farm, go on sale July 7th, as do tickets to the annual extravaganza on the eve before the game, the State Farm Battle of the Bands. The Classic, the 29th-annual contest between Bethune-Cookman University and Florida A&M University, will be played on November 22nd at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando.

General admission tickets can be purchased at any Ticketmaster outlet, by phone (407.839.3900) or online through or Priority seating for the game are available in season ticket packages purchased at either B-CU or FAMU. For ticket information for B-CU, call 368.481.2465; for FAMU, call 850.599.3141.

Handicap-accessible seating and group tickets (20 or more) may be purchased through Florida Citrus Sports (407.423.2476) or at the FCSports Box Office, located in the south end of the stadium (Mon. & Wed., 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.; Fri., 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.).

For the 11th consecutive year, State Farm has renewed its support of education, community and sportsmanship as a presenting sponsor for the Florida Classic.

In addition to its game sponsorship, State Farm is also the title sponsor of Battle of the Bands, a yearly tradition rivaled only by the game itself. The “Battle” will take place this year on Friday, November 21st at Amway Arena and will feature some of the nation’s top high school bands. The night is headlined by show-stopping performances by the FAMU “Marching 100” and “The Marching Wildcats” of B-CU.

The Florida Classic Consortium is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit Florida Corporation chaired by the Presidents of Florida A&M University and Bethune-Cookman University. All proceeds from the game and official ancillary events support the mission of B-CU and FAMU to provide educational opportunities through scholarships for all students.
