B-CU Brings Greek Life to the Stage in Production of "Frat House" at the PAC

This month, B-CU's theatre department and Stage Aurora Theatrical Company present Darryl Reuben Hall's "Frat House" production, starring Kim Coles and Tony Award Winner Melba Moore.

"Frat House" will be presented for two performances 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 14-15 at the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center on the campus of Bethune-Cookman University.

Kim Coles who played Sinclair on the hit TV show "Living Single" and appeared on "In Living Color" and "The Geena Davis Show" will play the role of Sister Bea. Tony Award Winner and Grammy Nominee Melba Moore, also known for the movie "The Fighting Temptations," will play the role of President Julia Johns.

"It's truly a pleasure to be performing at the historical Bethune-Cookman University in Darryl's "Frat House," says Moore. "I so look forward to working with [Darryl] again - "Frat House" is such a funny comedy with great Gospel music for all of Daytona to enjoy."

"Frat House" centers on Thomas, the son of Pastor Waller, who leaves home to attend college and joins a fraternity against his father's advice.

According to Aurora Theatrical Company: 'Filled with high-kickin', steppin', soul-shakin' gospel music, a 70s house party, and a powerful message. "Frat House" will you make laugh, cry, and shake your groove thang! This family oriented raucous comedy explores the bond between fraternity brothers - their joys, triumphs, pain, and sorrow - all under one roof!'

"Frat House" is written, choreographed, and directed by Darryl Reuben Hall. Julius John of B-CU's theatre department serves as production consultant and Nekeymah R. Martin, a 2004 B-CU graduate and former drum major for the Marching Wildcats, provides the step choreography. Rakita Dozier provides additional step choreography.

"Frat House" will be presented Nov. 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center. For information, please contact Julius John at (386) 481-2736 or call Stage Aurora Theatrical Company at (904) 765-7372 or
