Bethune-Cookman University Soccer Team Kicks Off inaugural Season With A Win

Deltona, FL – Bethune-Cookman University played its first ever soccer game on last Sunday.  The new men and women’s team is a member of the Southeast Collegiate Soccer Alliance, which is home to nearly 75 other teams, including four HBCUs.  B-CUs teams will practice and play their home games at Dewey Sports Complex (1200 Saxon Blvd) in Deltona, Florida.  The men gained their first win against Albany State with a 2-1 score last Sunday.  Both the men and women have a competitive season ahead, but look forward to the new challenge.

The B-CU Men’s Team Beat Albany State 2-1 in Sunday’s MatchDeltona’s Mayor, John Masiarczyk, City Manager Jane Shang, and other city officials joined President Jackson for a short pre-game kick-off.   They all shared their comments on the importance of the addition to both the university and the City of Deltona.  The men’s soccer team will play in state rival, Florida A & M University this Sunday, September 20th at 3pm.  The games are free and open to the public.
