Alumni visit Campus During Day of Service

Alumni Day Of ServicesA popular annual tradition was recently held at Bethune-Cookman University. The 6th annual Alumni Day of Service provides former students the opportunity to stay connected to their classmates. This event also serves as a mentoring opportunity for current students who were given the chance to meet with alumni and gain some perspective into what life is like after graduation.

“The Alumni Day of Service is near and dear to our hearts this is our 6th year of service and we mentor these students as well as inform them about employment opportunities,” said Gerald Yancy Chairman of Alumni Day of Service.

A Luncheon was held for the Alumni who attended the event and University President, Dr. Edison O. Jackson spoke at the event. “These alumni have planted good seeds and we pray that they fall on fertile ground. We thank all of you for coming back. You all are important to us. You all reflect the best of the best,” said Dr. Jackson.

During their campus visit, Alumni were given the opportunity to tour the new residence halls and met with several students. They shared their perspective on what was life like after graduating. Giving the students real world perspective on employment and providing them with prospects for networking in the future.
