B-CU Receives over $5,000 to Support The Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble

The Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center Will Host a Week Long Performing Arts Exhibition for B-CU Students and the Daytona Beach Community

B-CU recently received over $5,000 for a regional touring grant from the South Arts Board of Directors that will support the engagement and educational components of the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble. The Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble (CPRDE) is an internationally recognized modern dance company. Performances from the dance company are inspired by African American experiences and modern dance traditions from across the world.

The South Arts national endowment supports projects that involve underserved presenters, audiences, and communities. April 23rd-28th, 2018 B-CU students and the Daytona Beach community will have the opportunity to participate in several activities consisting of dance classes, a recital with special performances and community engagement with the Volusia County elementary schools. More information will be released in the coming months.
