Florida students must successfully complete a minimum of 24 academic credits in grades 9 through 12 for graduation. The credits shall be distributed as follows: (being updated).
Though not required, two years of a modern language are strongly recommended.
All entering freshmen must present the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or The American College Testing Program (ACT) score as part of their admission requirements. It is strongly recommended that candidates for spring or fall admission to Bethune-Cookman University take the examination no later than December or January of the preceding year.
Information concerning the SAT or ACT, including the application to take the examination, may be obtained from the High School Guidance Counselor or directly from the following: College Entrance Examination Board, Box 592, Princeton, New Jersey 08540; or College Entrance Board, Box 1025, Berkeley, California 94701; or The American College Testing Program, Box 451, Iowa City, Iowa 52240.
Students who have demonstrated exceptional academic ability are permitted to enroll at Bethune-Cookman University after completion of junior year in high school. Early admission applicants must have the following:

Test scores in the top 15th percentile statewide or nationally (SAT-1100 or above, ACT-24 or above)

"A"-"B" grades in high school

A recommendation from the student's high school counselor

An interview with university officials

Letters of recommendation from parents and the student's high school principal
Students must be given a high school diploma after satisfactorily completing the first year of university work.
