Dear Fellow Alumni:

It's an honor and a pleasure to introduce myself to you as Director of Alumni Affairs. As a two-time graduate of Bethune-Cookman University, I am humbled to have the opportunity to lead the Office of Alumni Affairs in its next phase. There is no doubt that this is an exciting time for us all as we embark on this journey together to find new and creative ways to serve the institution and its constituents.

During my tenure at our Alma Mater, I have worked in several capacities within the Office of Human Resources, from serving as the Interim Director of Human Resources to my most recent role as Associate Director of Human Resources. As an energetic and innovative leader with expertise in collaboration and performance management, I have been instrumental in streamlining processes, policies and procedures, improving productivity and implementing technological solutions to achieve actionable and value-added goals.

As Director of Alumni Affairs, I look forward to working with every one of you to recruit, retain, connect and engage our Wildcat community in efforts to support the mission and vision of our beloved institution and founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune. With this partnership, we will be able to establish programs and initiatives that align with the University's vision/goal of developing solution seekers and innovators.

This goal can be accomplished by recalibrating the learning environment to create new ways of thinking, acting, teaching and mentoring that are in line with the needs of our students and the communities we serve. As alumni, we can be certain that any generation that comes after us will "Enter to learn, Depart to serve."

As we set out on this path to make meaningful change, I want you to know that the Office of Alumni Affairs is firmly committed to refining our alumni programs, services, activities and communications to further strengthen our alumni base and relationships.

On behalf of the Division of Institutional Advancement and the Office of Alumni Affairs, I thank you for your continuous support and your unwavering devotion. I hope to meet each of you soon.

Until then, Hail Wildcats!

Respectfully,
Sean Lyn
Director of Alumni Affairs
