Dr. J. Michael Williams

Dr. J. Michael Williams is a 2006 graduate of Bethune-Cookman University. While at B-CU, Dr. Williams majored in biology and chemistry and proclaimed himself as an “eternal student of science”.

Dr. Williams shifted from being a researcher in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) field to working in support of researchers. He went on to receive his Master of Business Administration and Doctorate of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Throughout his academic tenure, Dr. Williams spent time in the functional genomics department of Oak Ridge National Laboratories, the Howard Hughes Biomedical Research Program, the Florida Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation, and various research projects conducted at B-CU.

After departing from laboratory research, he continued his professional career as an advanced science instructor within the Volusia County Public Schools System. He was instrumental in shaping the Program of Advanced Scientific Studies and its summer academy designed to increase the interest in STEM-based subjects in grades 8-12.

Some of Dr. Williams’ awards and honors include: Embry-Riddle Worldwide “ABCD-Above The Call of Duty Award” (2010), Ormond Beach Key to the City for Excellence in STEM Education (2008), and Florida Governor All-Star Nominee (2008).

Currently, Dr. Williams is the Executive Director of Enrollment Services & Partnerships and Asst. Professor of Business at the Worldwide Campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
