B-CU Fondly Remembers Mrs. Valerie Gasparini

Valerie Gasparini

“I am so saddened to hear the news about Mrs. Gasparini. She was above all, a wonderful person, a proud and loving mother, and a consummate professional who contributed so very much to our great University. Mrs. Gasparini will be sorely missed by so many.” -- Interim President, Dr. Hiram Powell

Today, the Wildcat nation mourns the loss of one of our own. Mrs. Valerie Collman-Gasparini lost her life in a motorcycle accident Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

Val began her career at Bethune-Cookman in 2007 as the Executive Assistant to the President, a position she held until 2017. She was then appointed to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Compliance in January 2018 as the Executive Assistant to the Senior Advisor to the President for Accreditation, Quality Control, Compliance and Institutional Effectiveness. She diligently worked on B-CU’s migration off the 2-year SACSCOC probation and was an integral part of the decennial accreditation reaffirmation. In addition to her regular office duties, she was heavily involved in analyzing, creating and/or updating several university documents, policies and webpages.

Val was an integral and well-respected professional at B-CU; we offer our love and support for all who mourn her loss. Thank you, Val, for all that you have done for Bethune-Cookman. Rest in peace.

The family does have a Go Fund Me account setup if you choose to offer your support.
