Cecily Ball
Cecily J. Ball, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Leadership
Dr. Cecily J. Ball currently serves as Associate Professor of Leadership at Bethune-Cookman University in the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership program. Dr. Ball holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of South Carolina, a M.Ed. in Divergent Learning from Columbia College and a B.A. in Elementary Education from Columbia College. In higher education, Dr. Ball has served as a Director in the Graduate School and Professional Studies programs, a faculty senator, graduate thesis advisor and has been actively involved in the creation of new graduate programs. Prior to working in higher education, Dr. Ball was an elementary school teacher for nine years in South Carolina and Florida public school systems. She served as a lead teacher, new teacher mentor, coaching teacher for student interns, diversity coordinator, SACS committee member and district science contact, among other roles. Dr. Ball’s primary academic interests include divergent learning, action research, online teaching and learning, and minority issues in education.
