Odessa Chambliss Center for Health Equity
The Odessa Chambliss Center for Health Equity is named after Trustee Dr. Lucille O'Neal's mother, Odessa Chambliss. Ms. Chambliss was a nurse and a woman of faith who inspired her family to improve the quality of life of the community. The Center, as an important element of the B-CU Student Affairs Division, creates opportunities at Bethune‐Cookman University for students, faculty, staff, and surrounding community to improve their overall health. The Center focuses on the 3 main components of Health Equity as identified by the World Health Organization: Health Disparities, Social Determinants of Health and Social Justice.
