Community engagement is the collaborative partnership between Bethune-Cookman University and community organizations, aimed at addressing community-identified needs while supporting student learning and development. Through service-learning, volunteerism, and civic engagement, students can apply classroom concepts to real-world situations and make a meaningful difference in others' lives.

What kinds of opportunities are available?

Students can engage with the community through various programs and initiatives:

  • Individual & Organizational Volunteer Opportunities: One-time and ongoing volunteer placements with community partners
  • Civic Engagement Activities: Voter registration, civic education, advocacy training, and democratic participation
  • National Days of Service: Campus-wide participation in MLK Day, Earth Day, 9/11 Day of Service, and other national service initiatives
