Bethune-Cookman University Staff Managers Enhance Leadership Skills at Special Workshop

Bethune-Cookman University staff managers participated in a dynamic two-day workshop on November 13th and 14th, designed to boost their management skills and provide practical tools to improve staff performance. The workshop, led by top management consultants Jacqueline Browning and Yvette Denise Montgomery of Parkside Consultants, focused on enhancing communication, decision-making, and understanding personal management styles.

Through the Personality Dimensions Assessment, managers gained insights into their core personality needs and management approaches. They were grouped by color-coded personalities—Authentic Blues, Inquiring Greens, Resourceful Oranges, and Organized Golds—each with distinct values and needs, such as relationships, competence, action, and responsibility.

The second day centered on performance enhancement, communication, and motivation strategies. Participants not only gained valuable skills but also enjoyed engaging activities, delicious meals from Sodexo, and a chance to build stronger relationships with peers.

Many attendees described the workshop as one of the best they've ever attended. For those interested in similar training, HR Executive Director Dr. Arlesia Welch will be available to discuss future opportunities in the Spring 2025 semester.
