President's 120th Anniversary Commemorative Mark Message

Dear Bethune-Cookman University Family,

As we embark on the journey of our 120th year, I am thrilled to announce the release of a commemorative mark that symbolizes the rich heritage and enduring spirit of Bethune-Cookman University. The mark, prominently featuring the iconic cupola of historic White Hall, serves as a poignant reminder of our more than century-old legacy in the realm of higher education, within our great city, state, and nation.

This celebration is not merely about the passage of time; it is an opportunity for all of us to reflect on the profound impact Bethune-Cookman University has had on countless lives, guided by the enduring principles of our beloved Founder. While for some years, we have been uplifted by F.I.R.S.T., we find in our Founder’s bequest: Faith, Education, Love, Hope, and Respect. These are the principles that continue to guide our institution as a beacon of inspiration and empowerment.

The 120th mark, along with its companion campaign, introduces a new tagline that resonates with the timeless wisdom of our Founder. "Without faith, nothing is possible. With it, nothing is impossible." From this powerful statement emerges a single unifying idea: Bethune-Cookman University is a place "Where Nothing is Impossible." This tagline serves as a rallying cry, encapsulating the essence of our institution's unwavering commitment to excellence and limitless possibilities.

On behalf of the Office of Marketing and Communications, we invite each one of you to join us in embracing this celebratory moment. Let the mark be a visual reminder of our shared journey and the incredible milestones we have achieved together. We encourage you to support this initiative in spirit, word, and deed, manifesting the ideals that define us as a community.

In the coming weeks, we will unveil more details, including the formation of a dedicated 120th Committee. Your involvement and enthusiasm are crucial to the success of this celebration. Together, let us make this milestone a testament to the strength, resilience, and brilliance of Bethune-Cookman University.

May we, as a community, continue to uphold the memory of our Founder and the once-modest institution she founded with $1.50 and an unwavering faith that proved, and continues to prove, that nothing is impossible.

Hail Wildcats!

With warm regards,
William Berry, Ph.D.
Provost and Acting President
