Dr. Ranjna Patel currently serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Leadership Studies at Bethune-Cookman University in the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership program. Dr. Patel earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Business with a concentration in Management from Maharaja Sayaji Rao University in Baroda, India. She then earned a Doctor of Business degree in Administrative Science from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. Dr. Patel has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Bethune Cookman University, Embry Riddle University, Florida Institute of Technology and St. Leo College. She has served as the Chair of the Department of Business Administration and Management Information System in the School of Business at Bethune Cookman University. She is also the current Chair of the Leadership Studies Department in the School of Graduate Studies at Bethune Cookman University. Dr. Patel served as a Summer fellow at the Department of Defense in Pentagon DC, Policy Office, Associate editor of the Academy of Management, Gender and Diversity Group’s Newsletter and served as a reviewer for the National Conference of the Academy of Management for many years. Dr. Patel has published and presented papers on organizational development, as well as teaching improvement especially online learning for minority students. Dr. Patel has received two best paper presentation awards at major academic conferences. Dr. Patel has served as a thesis chair for over twenty master’s thesis as well as chair for doctoral dissertation. Dr. Patel is passionate about student success and developing research skills for students to not only be prepared for doctoral programs but also to become lifelong researchers. She has incorporated many active learning and student engagement techniques in her courses to maximize student learning in an online environment.
